Yea and Amen: A Sure Thing | Bishop Vincent Mathews
Yea and Amen: A Sure Thing | Bishop Vincent Mathews
God’s promises are not wishes.
They are backed by the character of the One who made them.
In Yea and Amen: A Sure Thing, Bishop Vincent Mathews teaches from 2 Corinthians 1:20 and shows believers how to stop merely carrying the promises of God and begin filling their minds, prayers, and lives with what God has actually said.
“For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen.”
A prescription can be valid and still sit unused in a drawer.
A check can be signed and still never be deposited.
In the same way, you can carry promises in your Bible and never allow those promises to shape how you think, pray, endure, and live.
But before trusting any promise, you must know the guarantor.
People break promises because they may lack either the power or the character to keep them.
God lacks neither.
Numbers 23:19 asks:
Has He said it, and will He not do it?
Has He spoken, and will He not make it good?

HOW DO YOU “TAKE” THE PROMISE?
Take it in.
Joshua 1:8 teaches us to meditate on God’s Word day and night. The promise must become part of your spiritual operating system.
Ask, seek, and knock.
Matthew 7:7-8 calls for active, persistent prayer.
Don’t take it alone.
Find mature believers who know God and His Word and can agree with you in prayer.
Don’t quit.
Your answer may not come on your timetable. Sometimes God changes the situation. Other times, as Paul discovered, His answer is:
“My grace is sufficient for you.”
The miracle may not always be the removal of the weight.
Sometimes the miracle is that the weight did not crush you.
And when you do not know which promise fits your situation, remember Romans 8:
If God is for us, who can be against us?
In all these things, we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
Nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus.
And ultimately, Jesus promised that He is coming again.
The promises are Yea.
The promises are Amen.
The question is:
Will you stand on what God said?
