The Faith of Lois: Why Every Child Needs a Chain of Adults in Their Life | Bishop Vincent Mathews

What if one faithful grandmother could influence generations she would never live to see?

In The Faith of Lois, Bishop Vincent Mathews teaches from 2 Timothy 1:5 about the faith that lived first in Timothy’s grandmother Lois, then in his mother Eunice, and ultimately in Timothy himself.

Paul told Timothy:

“I call to remembrance the genuine faith that is in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice.”

Faith did not merely visit their home.

It lived there.

This message challenges parents, grandparents, mentors, church members, and every believer to recognize that children need a chain of godly adults around them.

IN THIS MESSAGE:

• The faith of Lois, Eunice, and Timothy

• Why genuine faith must be lived, not merely discussed

• Becoming a cycle breaker in your family

• Why the nuclear family still needs extended family and church family

• Why every child needs multiple trusted adults speaking into their life

• Deuteronomy 6 and teaching faith in ordinary moments

• Psalm 78 and influencing generations you may never meet

• Titus 2 and the responsibility of older men and women

• Why grandparents still have an assignment

• The importance of intergenerational relationships

• Why children need both protection and community

• Teaching young men integrity, work, discipline, and sound judgment

• Teaching young women wisdom, character, family, and biblical maturity

• Why the church must know, see, encourage, and support its children

• Building spiritual memorials that remind children what God has done

You may have come from dysfunction, addiction, broken relationships, poverty, instability, or generations of unhealthy patterns.

But somebody can decide:

It stops with me.

That is what a cycle breaker does.

Your children do not have to inherit every struggle you inherited.

And you do not have to raise them alone.

A teacher can reinforce what you taught.

A grandparent can provide wisdom.

A coach can speak courage.

A church member can recognize a gift.

A mentor can say something that changes a young person’s direction forever.

The question is not only:

How many children can one adult handle?

A better question is:

How many trustworthy adults are helping each child grow?

The faith you build today can travel farther than your lifetime.

Lois poured into Eunice.

Lois and Eunice poured into Timothy.

Timothy became a leader who still speaks to the Church thousands of years later.

Do not let the chain break.

See the children.

Learn their names.

Encourage them.

Teach them.

Protect them.

Tell them what God has done.

And build a faith strong enough to reach generations you will never meet.
