When Worlds Collapse Part 5: Wars, Famines, Pestilences & Earthquakes | Bishop Vincent Mathews

What happens when the things people thought were stable begin to shake?

In Part 5 of When Worlds Collapse, Bishop Vincent Mathews continues through Matthew 24:6-8 as Jesus describes the birth pains of a world moving toward its final conclusion.

Jesus said:

“You will hear of wars and rumors of wars... nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.”

Then He gives an important command:

“See that you are not troubled.”

The signs are serious.

But believers are not called to panic.

IN THIS MESSAGE:

• Matthew 24:6-8 and the continuing birth pains

• Wars and rumors of wars

• Why conflict extends beyond military battlefields

• Racial, ideological, family, marital, and internal conflict

• Why broken truth eventually produces broken relationships

• Famine and the breakdown of systems

• How war, displacement, supply disruption, and scarcity can become connected

• Amos 8 and the famine of hearing the Word of God

• Why biblical literacy matters in the last days

• Testing preaching and teaching against Scripture

• Earthquakes and the shaking of things people thought were stable

• Romans 8 and creation groaning under the effects of sin

• Economic, social, relational, and spiritual instability

• Hebrews 12 and the things that cannot be shaken

• Pestilence and the limitations of human control

• The relationship between Matthew 24 and Revelation 6

• The four horsemen and the intensification of judgment

• Why prophecy should produce preparation instead of fear

War breaks peace.

Famine breaks provision.

Pestilence threatens health.

Earthquakes expose instability.

But Jesus calls all of them:

“The beginning of birth pains.”

Birth pains mean something is coming.

The shaking is not only destruction.

It is revelation.

It exposes what we have built our lives upon.

Money can shake.

Governments can shake.

Economies can shake.

Relationships can shake.

Institutions can shake.

Even the ground beneath your feet can shake.

But there is something that cannot be shaken.

Jesus Christ.

That is why believers cannot build their hope on systems that are already moving.

Build on the Rock.

Know the Word.

Do not be deceived.

Do not panic.

Do not allow headlines to determine your faith.

Jesus did not reveal these things to frighten His disciples.

He revealed them so they would be prepared.

Our hope is greater than the economy.

Greater than war.

Greater than disease.

Greater than political instability.

Greater than anything happening in this world.

Our King is still in control.

And when everything that can be shaken begins to move, those who are anchored in Christ can still stand.
