The Offering Supervisor Barachias Irons
The Offering | Supervisor Barachias Irons
Are you giving God your whole life, or are you still measuring out how much of yourself you are willing to give Him?
In this challenging message, Supervisor Barachias Irons asks a searching question:
Are you still measuring out your offering to God?
The offering God desires is bigger than money.
He wants your heart.
He wants your will.
He wants your worship.
He wants your obedience.
He wants your habits.
He wants your struggles.
He wants the areas you have tried to keep for yourself.
Using Luke 7 and the woman who entered the Pharisee’s house to anoint Jesus, Supervisor Irons shows us what wholehearted surrender looks like.
The woman came as a sinner.
She came uninvited.
She came humble.
She came with tears.
She came carrying an alabaster box.
But the greatest offering she brought was herself.
While the Pharisee saw a sinner, Jesus saw a soul.
While others questioned the value of extravagant worship, Jesus received what she offered.
This message explores:
• What it means to give God an offering
• Why our offering is about more than money
• The woman with the alabaster box
• Why worship is never wasted on Jesus
• The danger of religious pride
• Why we must never forget what God delivered us from
• Giving God our whole heart
• Surrendering pride and arrogance
• Letting go of unforgiveness
• Giving God our secret sins
• Surrendering unhealthy relationships and habits
• Why God wants a freewill offering
• What it means to present your body as a living sacrifice
• How Jesus receives people others have rejected
• Why surrender leads to transformation
The Pharisee looked at the woman and saw her past.
Jesus looked at her and saw what she could become.
She entered the room identified as a sinner.
She left hearing the words:
“Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.”
That is what happens when we stop measuring out our surrender.
Some of us tell God:
You can have this part of me, but not that part.
You can have Sunday, but not the rest of my week.
You can have my worship, but not my attitude.
You can have my money, but not my heart.
You can have my public life, but not my secret life.
But Romans 12 calls us to present our bodies as a living sacrifice.
God is not asking for a portion.
He wants all of you.
Your heart.
Your mind.
Your will.
Your pain.
Your pride.
Your unforgiveness.
Your habits.
Your relationships.
Your future.
Your entire life.
Stop measuring the offering.
Pour it out.
Withhold nothing.
Give Him all of you.
