The Winning Road | Bishop Vincent Mathews

You cannot win on the wrong road.

In The Winning Road, Bishop Vincent Mathews teaches from Psalm 1 and shows how the direction of your life is shaped by the voices you listen to, the paths you remain on, and the places you choose to sit.

Psalm 1 begins:

“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful.”

Winning requires refusal.

Sometimes winning means walking away.

Sometimes winning means rejecting advice that sounds reasonable but contradicts God.

Sometimes winning means leaving a path before it becomes your destination.

Sometimes winning means getting out of a seat you were never supposed to occupy.

In this message:

• What “blessed” really means in Psalm 1

• The progression from walking to standing to sitting

• How wrong voices produce wrong choices

• Why social media influencers, news, friends, and family cannot replace biblical counsel

• How ungodly advice can sound intelligent, compassionate, and reasonable

• Why pleasing God matters more than money, popularity, or public opinion

• The danger of becoming comfortable around sin

• Why scorn and constant criticism can damage your faith

• Biblical meditation and filling your mind with God’s Word

• The difference between resources and the Source

• Why rooted people can survive dry seasons

• Producing fruit in your season

• The difference between a rooted tree and unstable chaff

Psalm 1 teaches a progression:

First, you walk with wrong counsel.

Then you stand in the wrong path.

Eventually you sit there.

Direction becomes position.

Position becomes identity.

That is why you must change direction before it becomes your destination.

But Psalm 1 does not only tell us what to reject.

It tells us what to embrace.

Delight in God’s Word.

Meditate on it day and night.

Remain planted.

Grow deep roots.

Trust your Source.

And wait for your season.

A tree does not produce fruit every day, but when its season comes, it produces.

Winter does not mean the tree is dead.

Your current season does not define your future.

Stay planted.

Stay rooted.

Stay connected to God.

Your season will come.

You do not have to follow every trend.

You do not have to listen to every voice.

You do not have to sit in every seat.

Choose the winning road.
