From First Steps to New Careers, Southaven Hub Serves the Whole Family
What does it look like to support a family at every stage of life? A new Mid-South initiative is answering that question with both urgency and action.
On May 16 at 11 a.m., Tabernacle Southaven will open the doors to the Tabernacle Mid-South Family Stabilization Hub at 7701 Highway 51. More than just a building, the hub represents a bold investment in the future of families across the region. This community resource offers support from a child’s first steps to a parent’s next career move.
The need for solutions has never been clearer.
In August 2025, the Mississippi State Department of Health declared a public health emergency after infant mortality rose to 9.7 deaths per 1,000 births—the highest rate in over a decade. Behind that number are real families: mothers without support, fathers without direction, and communities searching for answers.
“Enough is enough. Too many families are struggling without support,” said Bishop Vincent Mathews. “We are not just talking about the problem — we are building solutions that help families survive and thrive.”
Rooted in a mission to celebrate life and serve families in Jesus’ name, the hub brings together a wide range of essential services under one roof. Families will have access to the newly launched Tabernacle PUAH Pregnancy Center, Tabernacle Innovation & Career Development, powered by JACE, Kingdom Wellness powered by Genesis Wellness Solutions, all designed to create new pathways to emotional and financial stability.
“The mission is to support mothers and fathers with care and resources to cultivate healthy families,” said Katrina Banks, Director of the PUAH Pregnancy Center.
This vision goes beyond meeting immediate needs; it’s about building lasting stability.
At the heart of the grand opening is a Community Baby Shower, designed as a welcoming first step for many families. The event creates a space where practical support meets genuine connection, ensuring no family feels alone in their journey.
Attendees can expect:
The Tabernacle Mid-South Family Stabilization Hub represents a long-term investment in family health, economic mobility, and community restoration—meeting urgent needs today while building stronger futures for tomorrow.
Phase two of the vision includes the launch of a full medical clinic, expected in 2027, which will expand access to prenatal and maternal healthcare in a region increasingly affected by limited resources.
As families across the Mid-South navigate rising costs and everyday pressures, the hub stands as both a place of immediate help and long-term hope.
The event is free and open to the public. Community members are encouraged to attend, explore available services, and be part of a new chapter focused on strengthening families and transforming communities.
